Fab-U-Loop Yarn was founded in 2012 by Milu And Gabriel Alves, a mother-son team who saw a need to bring t-shirt yarn, a European trend, to America.
We'll be the first to admit that t-shirt yarn is not a new invention. In fact, it's been big in our native country of Portugal for years now. It was there that we had the inspiration to bring a new, better way of crafting from overseas to the USA. Fab-U-Loop was founded out of our home in lovely Kearny, NJ with the hope that a simple Etsy shop could start bringing t-shirt yarn to the mainstream crafting community. One sale led to another, and next thing you know we have a stockroom with over 3,000 rolls of imported yarn stacked up to the ceiling, and our own website dedicated to all things looped.
At this point we decided to expand our selection from just 135yd rolls of yarn to crochet hooks, knitting needles, beads, charms, with lots more on the way. There's a million more things we have in mind to add to the store, so if you're looking for something new, something a little different to work with, then you know where to find us.
It's been quite the ride so far, and with over 1,000 happy customers as of now we can't wait to see how much farther we'll go. Thank you for your support, and for being the reason that we can wake up and say “I'm proud of what I'm going to do today.”

Meet our staff below
- I guess if there's one thing I'd like people to know, it's that I started my shop to share this passion of mine. I've been handcrafting purses, necklaces, laptop sleeves, rugs and other items out of t-shirt yarn for the last several years and I absolutely love it! When I would wear my creations out, people would always ask me where I bought them. I wound up making several for friends and giving others as gifts - then I got an idea. What if there were people out there who would really like this yarn... and what if they could make some really awesome things with it, too? So I opened up my shop in the hopes that other people could try t-shirt yarn and fall in love with it like I did. :)Need help picking the best yarn for your project? - I know your average 20 year old male doesn't run an online e-commerce site that specializes in knitting supplies and materials, but then again there's nothing fun about average. I'm a 4th year Business Management student at MSU in Montclair, NJ. I spend my days running the business, answering emails, and using whatever free time I have to surf Reddit and daydream. Livin' the life, eh? Questions, comments, concerns? Reach out to me at email@example.com if you have anything that you'd like help with.
